Hello 2016

I know the year has already in its eighteenth day, but I wanted my first post of the year to be special.

Last year was a year of some firsts for me. It was my first time out of the country without a family member, my first drink, my first apartment, and my first time living in four different places within the same year. It was also a year of lasts: my last summer at working at my school, the last days of my first car, my last move in college, my last fall season on my gorgeous college campus, and the last long Christmas break. It changed me. I moved, traveled, loved, struggled, and learned to trust God with everything I am going through. I have done so much this year. I cannot remember everything, but I know that I am not the same person I was in 2014. This year in a nut shell has been like the movie Inside Out. It has had anger, fear, disgust, sadness, but most of all joy.

New Year Resolutions make up the first days of the year, well that and college students worrying about the new semester. This year has started well for me and I hope it started well for you.

This year I have thought of a few things on my resolutions list. I am going to share them with you and hopefully I will post checking them off of my list.

  1. Graduate from college.

I plan to walk in May and finish my last class this summer. I hope I make it and can finish strong with good grades.

  1. Get a job.

I know this is pretty basic, but it would mean a lot to me to get a job in my field. I want be in Public Relations and possibly Marketing. I would love to do some branding on the side as well.

  1. Move to Nashville.

I am applying for jobs in Nashville because I want to be in the music industry. I love the city and the culture there. It is also always gorgeous whenever I go down.

  1. Create a budget.

This seems simple, but for a girl who is terrible with money, it is easier said than done.

  1. Read and write more.

I have a Kindle and I love to read books on it. It makes me turn off my brain for a little bit and not think about real life. It also helps me with my creativity. I also would like to post on here every two weeks. I love writing and it is something that makes me happy. I have to make it a priority.

  1. Perform in the school musical.

As a senior, I would like to get involved in the last show if possible. I am the choreographer for the show, but I also want to be in it. I have been in the musical every year I have been in college.

  1. Have a girl’s trip with my college friends.

All of my friends and I are graduating, but I want one last fun adventure before we all go into the real world of adulthood.

  1. Get into shape.

I know most people put this on their lists, but for someone who gets winded walking quickly up and down stairs, I would say this is important.

  1. Build a professional wardrobe.

I have professional clothes, just not enough for a whole wardrobe. In the PR and business world, I am going to have to have more professional clothing.

  1. Make the present better.

We all live in different season throughout our lives, but we all live in those season differently. Some of us wish them away, some of us know we will be there for a while and get stuck there, and some of us make the most of it and live fully. I want to be the latter and life the live God has for me fully.

Those are my resolutions for 2016. I encourage you to make a list of things you want to accomplish this year. You can and should add to it anytime you feel the need and want to. I hope you better the season you are living in and make sure you are living fully. We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow, so make today count.

Psalm 37: 4 – “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart”

Until next time my sassy peaches,
